Arvi Siig sündis 8. novembril 1938. a. Tallinnas teenistuja perekonnas. Lapsepõlv möödus tal Tallinnas ja Arukülas. Õppis 1946-1954 Tallinnas 2. Keskkoolis, 1954-1957 Tallinna 7. Keskkoolis ning 1957-1960 Tallinna Pedagoogilise Instituudi vene keele ja kirjanduse osakonnas. Kirjanduslikku tegevust alustas 1957. a., esimesed värsid ilmusid "Sädemes", hiljem on avaldanud luuletusi "Nooruses", "Loomingus", "Noorte Hääles", "Rahva Hääles", "Sirbis ja Vasaras" ning mujal.
 
Värsivihik on autori esimene raamat.
