Romantiline ja samas ka traagiline lugu Eesti ühe armastatuima helilooja Raimond Valgre elust 1939.-1949. aastatel. Film räägib Valgre armastusest kauni blondi Alice'i ja vene kaunitari Niina vastu. Jutustus sõprusest ja reetmisest ning sellest, mis võib juhtuda inimestega, kes satuvad suurte poliitiliste muudatuste risttuultesse – Eesti Vabariigi lõpp, Teine maailmasõda, nõukogude korra ja stalinliku režiimi ülemvõim. Sündmused kulmineeruvad aastavahetusel 1949/50 restoranis "Gloria".
