Raamat «Eestlased laias maailmas – Ülemaailmse Eesti Kesknõukogu liikmesmaade lugu» on kultuuriloolise väärtusega kinkeraamat, mis annab nii piltliku kui ka kirjaliku ülevaate Välis-Eesti seltsidest ning organisatsioonidest ja nende tegevusest eestluse hoidmisel väljaspool Eestit.
Raamat peegeldab Välis-Eesti kogukondade kõrghetki ja kitsaskohti, sarnasusi ja erinevusi Ülemaailmse Eesti Kesknõukogu (ÜEKN) liikmesmaade lõikes. Raamatu eesmärk on aidata kaasa Eesti kultuuri rahvusvahelistumisele ja tutvustamisele maailmas. Raamat on trükitud kingitusena Eestile Eesti Ülemaailmse Kesknõukogu poolt tähistamaks Eesti 100. iseseisvusaastat.
The book, «Estonians Around the World – the Story of Estonian World Council Member Countries,» is a gift book of cultural significance, giving an overview in both picture and word
of the societies and organizations of Estonians abroad, and of their activities in maintaining their Estonian heritage outside of Estonia. The book reflects the high points and low moments, similarities and differences, among the Estonian communities in Estonian World Council (EWC) member countries. The goal of the book is to assist in introducing and internationalizing Estonian culture in the world. The book is printed as a gift to Estonia from the Estonian World Council, commemorating Estonia’s 100th year of independence.
