Ülevaade Naissaarelt pärit kunstniku Erik Schmidti elust ja loomingust.
Rootsi päritolu Erik Schmidt sündis 1925. a. Naissaarel. Tema isa oli meremees ja armastas maalida. Onu Bernhard Schmidt sai maailmakuulsaks omanimelise teleskoobi leiutamisega. 1944. pidi pere põgenema Rootsi. Seal töötas Erik Schmidt meremehena kaubalaevadel. Mõne aasta pärast asus ta õppima maalikunsti New Yorgis ning Pariisis. Alates 1957. aastast elas kunstnik Mallorcal.
