Kogumik „Viinakuu“ annab ülevaate alkoholiteemalisest eesti luulest, alustades Friedrich Gustav Arveliusest ja Kristian Jaak Petersonist ning lõpetades Wimbergi, Andra Teede ja Triin Tasujaga.
Olgu rõhutatud, et elu ja luule vahekord pole üksühene ning luuletaja kurku kallatud alkoholikoguse ja alkoholile pühendatud luuletuste hulga vahel puudub igasugune seos. Mõned „Viinakuus“ külluslikult esindatud luuletajad olid või on täiskarsklased, mõne tuntud viinanina luulest aga ei õnnestunud isegi tikutulega otsides leida ainsatki vihjet alkoholile.
