Lõpuks ometi on juba mitu aastat tagasi UNESCO maailmapärandi hulka arvatud Eesti tantsupeod jäädvustatud väärilisel viisil ka raamatus. Ja millal veel on õigem aeg seda ilmutada kui praegu, järjekordse üldlaulu- ja tantsupeo eelõhtul.
Eesti Rahvatantsu ja Rahvamuusika Seltsi eestvedamisel valminud raamat annab täpse ülevaate tantsupidude arengust alates I Eesti mängudest 1934. aastal kuni XVII üldtantsupeoni aastal 2004.
Lisaks rohkem kui 400 fotole on raamat illustreeritud ka rohke arhiivimaterjaliga: näha saab omaaegseid kavasid, pidude atribuutikat, väljalõikeid artiklitest ning tantsuetenduste fotosid. Raamat on eesti, saksa, vene ja inglise keeles.
