Vennad Bloomid on tegutsenud kelmidena terve elu. Ikka ja jälle on neil perfektne ja lollikindel petuskeem kohe varrukast võtta. Peainseneriks on Stephen (Mark Ruffalo), kes pettuste najal toimivat elu igati naudib. Vend Bloom (Adrien Brody) soovib aga elult midagi muud ja alles 30nendate eluaastate alguses otsustab ta pettuste maailmast välja astuda. Mõnda aega eemal olnuna siseneb Stephen koos oma ustava abilise Bang Bangiga aga taas Bloomi ellu ning pakub ühte viimast tööotsa. Sihtmärgiks on kogu elu kodus istunud Penelope (Rachel Weisz) ja tema hiiglaslik pärandus.
