Feodora von Prastelny kasutas meeleldi igat juhust itaalia keele oskusega hiilgamiseks, ehkki ta selles polnud kuigi kaugel. Ta ajas pea aknast välja ja küsis vastu vagunit nõjatuvalt konduktorilt:
«Preche non partenza?» (Miks rong ei välju?)
Viibeterikkast sõnadevoolust Feodora ei mõistnud silpigi.
Ta vastas: «Grazie» ja pöördus jälle isa poole: «Konduktor ütleb, et me peame teist rongi ootama.»
