TUTVUSTUS
Monograafia eesmärk on anda žanri üldistatud arengulugu aastail 1900-1940, kusjuures tähelepanu keskendub järgmisele:
- ballaadi teoreetilise kontseptsiooni loomisele ja žanri käsitlemisele selle alusel;
- olulisemate žanrifaktide koondamisele ja üldistamisele;
- eesti ballaadi arengujoonte esitamisele üldiselt ja eriti aastail 1900-1940;
- saadud tulemuste seostamisele kirjandusprotsessi kui tervikuga;
- ballaadiautoreile eraldi ja žanri osale nende loomingus võrdluses teiste luuletajatega;
- ballaadikriitikale ja selle seaduspärasustele;
- muudatustele ballaadi poeetilises struktuuris ja sisus.
