Aastal 2018 saab koos Eesti Vabariigiga 100-aastaseks ka meie soomusvägi. Eesti soomusvägi sündis Vabadussõja alates soomusrongide ja soomusautodena, mis suurelt osalt ehitati meil kohapeal. Just soomusrongid olid meie põhilöögijõuks Vabadussõjas; järgnenud rahuajal lisandusid neile ja soomusautodele ka tankid ning tanketid. Kõigest neist soomusrongidest ja meie sõjaväe soomusmasinaist, aga ka tuntuimaist soomusronglastest ja teistest soomusväelastest meie esimesel iseseisvusajal räägibki see raamat.
