Elfriede Lenderi mälestused ja autobiograafiline teos, mis kirjeldab tema loodud eesti tütarlastegümnaasiumi lugu alates 1907. aastast. Kool alustas vene õppekeelega, kuid läks 1918. aastal üle eestikeelsele õppetööle ning kujunes 1920.–1930. aastatel Tallinna prestiižikaimaks tütarlastegümnaasiumiks. Raamat kajastab kooli loomist, arengut ja kannatusi pärast 1940. aastat ning on ühtlasi oluline teos Eesti kooli- ja haridusajaloo kohta. Teos ilmus esmalt 1967. aastal Stockholmis ning käesolev väljaanne sisaldab täiendavaid fotosid.
