Claudio Hils on rahvusvaheliselt tunnustatud fotograaf, kes 2002. aastal dokumenteeris selleks kohandatud kunstiprojektis Euroopa Liidu üleminekut ühisrahale Euro. Hilsi reportaaži koordineeris Euroopa Keskpank ning fotokunstnikule avanes ligipääs tervele protsessile, alates Euro tootmisest kuni selle käikulaskmiseni eri maades.
Claudio Hilsi jäädvustas aastatel 1999 kuni 2002 Euroopa Liidu 12 riigi üleminekut ühisrahale alates kupüüride trükkimisest ja müntide vermimisest kuni vanade rahade ringlusest eemaldamise ja hävitamiseni.
