Ühel päeval saab ta kõne Shinra firma endiselt presidentilt, kes palub teda end kaitsma salapärase Kadaj eest. Kadaj otsib koos vendadega oma ´ema´ ja ta usub, et Cloud võib tema asukohta teada. Samal ajal on Vincent Valentine ringi rännanud, kogudes infot Kadaj kohta. Cloudil ja tema sõpradel on aeg taas kokku saada, et võidelda uute vaenlastega.
