1911 andsid vennad Parikased välja oma esimese teose "Fotograafia õpperaamat".
204-leheküljelise õpiku peamine põhiskeemi ja sisu autor oli vanem vend Johannes, kes lisaks oma teadmistele fotograafiast uuris varem nii eesti, vene kui saksa keeles välja antud õpikuid. Peeter lisas sellele Euroopas õpitud teadmisi.
Õpik oli väga menukas, sai Tallinnas toimunud fotonäitusel hõbeauraha (1000 krooni) ja sellest anti välja neli trükki, millest oksjonil olev ehk viimane ilmus 1936 aastal juba 320-leheküljelisena.
