olmandast köitest leiab lugeja Faehlmanni ainsad kolm eluajal ilmunud raamatut. Kõik need on rohkem või vähem seotud tema tegevusega Tartu Ülikoolis: ladinakeelse väitekirjaga «Observationes inflammationum occultiorum» kaitses ta 1827. aastal doktorikraadi; 1842. aastal eesti keele lektoriks saades avaldas lektorikursuse programmina ülevaate eesti keele pöördkondadest «Versuch die estnischen Verba in Conjugationen zu orden» ja 1848. aastal ilmunud uurimusega düsenteeriaepideemiast «Ruhrepidemie in Dorpat im Herbst 1846» kandideeris ta arstiteaduskonna professorikohale.
