Rootsi emigreerunud Jaan Grünberg’il hakkas pärast sõda halvenema nägemine, seetõttu muutus mõnevõrra tema värvigamma – n.-ö. mürgisemaks.
Tema tööde formaadid muutusid väiksemaks, need on üsna maalilised improvisatsioonid, millel on oma võlu. Oma värvikäsitluse säilitus tuntud kolorist ka sel perioodil.
Sellised tööd köitsid kunstipublikut J. Grünbergi isikunäitusel Adamson-Ericu Muuseumis mõni aastad tagasi.
