Kahe mere vahel ehk Omal jõul läbi Venemaa
1976. aasta toimus Eesti Televisiooni korraldatud suurekspeditsioon Tallinn-Vladivostok. Reisil juhtis telemees Ülo Tootsen ja see kestis 177 päeva, mille kestel läbiti maastikuautoga UAZ 22 000 km, rongiga 2600 km, laevaga 2200 km, lennukiga 12 000 km. Külastati rohkem kui sadat suuremat Venemaa linna. See oli üks suurejoonelisemaid reise, mille eestlased nõukogude ajal sooritasid. Ekspeditsiooni tulemusena valmis 21 tele saadet sarjast Kahe mere vahel“ ning 6 olukirjeldusfilmi.Ülo Tootsen pidas reisil päevikut, mille põhjal on nüüd, pärast autori surma, välja antud raamat „Kahe mere vahel“, mille on toimetanud ja kommentaaridega varustanud „Eesti Päevalehe“ kauaaegne Venemaa-korrespondent Jaanus Piirsalu. Reisikiri annab suurepäraseid vaateid nõukogude tegelikkusest ning Venemaa olustikust sügaval stagnaajal.
