“Pallas” tähistab eesti kultuuriloos nii kunstiühingut, kunstikooli kui kooliga seotud kunstnike loomingulist pärandit, mille puhul tavatsetakse kasutada koolkonna mõistet.Kunstikool “Pallas” on lahutamatult seotud järjepideva kunstihariduse alguse ja arenguga Eestis. Koolis sai professionaalse ettevalmistuse enamik kunstnikke, kelle looming kuulub 20. sajandi eesti kunsti paremikku.Pärast esmakordset ilmumist 1977. aastal kujunes Tiina Nurga raamat “Kõrgem Kunstikool “Pallas”” otsekohe eesti kunstiteaduse klassikaks. See on olnud hädavajalik käsiraamat mitte ainult neile, keda huvitas “Pallase” kunstikooli kujunemine, vaid kõigile kahe maailmasõja vahelisse eesti kunsti süüvijaile.
