Somaalia’s oli käimas kodusõda. Kuna valdus oli USA kontrolli all, läks USA dessantväeüksus seda konflinkti lahendama. Kuid kõik ei läinud nii nagu oli planeeritud. USA sõdurid pidid Mogadishu lahingus Mohamed Farrah Aidid'i väed 60 minutiga purustama. Lahingust kujunes aga 15 tunnine veresaun, mis lõppes kahe UH-60 Black Hawk tüüpi helikopteri allatulistamisega, tappes sellega 18 Ameeriklast ja sadu Somaalialasi.
