Ülevaade ungari luuletaja Sandor Petöfi elust ja saatusest. Autor kõrvutab luuletaja ametlikku elulugu legendidega ja püüab luua Petöfi elust ja surmast oma versiooni, mis lubaks tema elule vaadata pisut laiemalt kui kaks vaenulikku leeri seda võimaldaksid. Ametliku versiooni järgi langes luuletaja 1848.a. vabadusvõitluses Austria ja Vene okupantide vastu.
