Küünlaliiv on valmistatud 100% palmivahast. Liiv on toiduvärviga värvitud ja on looduslik. Täida tulekindel anum pulbriga, sisesta taht, süüta ja ongi valmis.
5-6 cm sügavusega anumaga on põlemisaeg ca 8 tundi (kaitstud õhu ja tuule eest). Mida vähem liiva ja mida lühem taht, seda rohkem põlemisaeg väheneb.
Põlemisel moodustub teeküünla suurune sulamisala (ca 5 cm läbimõõduga). Pärast jahtumist saab selle ilma tahita visata orgaaniliste jäätmete hulka. Pista taht allesjäänud küünlaliiva sisse ja uus küünal ongi valmis.
Kuna küünlaliiv on värvitud toiduvärviga, ei ole see UV-kindel ja tugeva päikesevalguse käes võib selle värvus veidi muutuda.
