Lauri Sommeri «Lugusid lõunast» on valik lindistusi vanadelt kassettidelt. Osa neist põhineb vanakeste juttudel, osa peretraditsioonil, osa folkloorsel ainesel ja osa fantaasial. Mõni pala on antud nii murdelises algkeeles kui vabatõlkes.
See on omamoodi jätk endiaegsele jutuvestmisele ning rahvasuule toetunud Juhan Jaigi «Võrumaa juttude» kahele jaole.
Lugude toimumispaigad on Võrumaa, Peipsiveer, Setomaa nii meie kui Petseri poolel, Kulkna (Kolpino) saar ja Lämmijärve teisel kaldal paiknev Chudskaja Rudnitsa kyla.
