Lament moodustati eelmise aastatuhande lõpus. Ansambel on üheksaliikmeline ja kuulda saab peamiselt 70-80. aastate head tantsumuusikat -Kool & The Gang, KC & The Sunshine Band, James Brown, Hot Chocolate jne. Ajavahemikul 1999-2001oli Lamendi solistiks Dave Benton. Alates 2002 aasta kevadest kuni 2003 Septembrini oli Lamendi üheks solistidest Jay Day (Leningrad Cowboys). Detsembris 2002, asus Los Angelesest Eestisse elama ja liitus grupiga James Werts, kes hoiab võrdselt käes nii basskitarri kui mikrofoni. Eelnevalt, elades Ameerika Ühendriikides, on James Werts teinud koostööd rahvusvaheliselt tunnustatud popstaari Anastacia`ga. Enamus Lamendi liikmetest on tegelenud muusikaga üle kahekümne aasta.
