Dorothy perekonda ähvardab oht jääda ilma oma Kansase kodust, mis on tüdrukule kallimast kallim. Ühtäkki tõmmatakse ta aga tagasi tuttavasse Ozi võlumaailma, kus Dorothy kohtub vanade sõprade Hernehirmutise, Lõvi, Plekkmehe ja teistega, kelle maailm on samuti suures ohus. Nimelt on kurjal Jokkeril Oziga õelad plaanid – pahalane tahab Võlumaa oma pimedusevõimule alistada, hoides selle juhte vangistuses.
Kui Jokker on ka Dorothy sõbrad vangi pistnud, saab tüdrukust Ozi ainus lootus. Teekonnal mööda legendaarset Kollast Telliseteed peab ta koos uute abiliste Targa Öökulli, Vana Puu ja Marssal Kommiga nuputama, kuidas Jokker peatada ning päästa Oz, oma sõbrad ning oma Kansase kodu.
