Ungari kirjanik Sandor Tar (s. 1941) on alates 1970. aastast ilmutanud kaheksa proosateost, jutustusi ja romaane, teda on tõlgitud prantsuse, saksa ja soome keelde.
«Meie tänav» ei ole romaan traditsioonilises mõttes, vaid pigem romaan novellides (nagu - küll hoopis teises helistikus - August Gailiti «Toomas Nipernaadi»). «Meie tänava» peatükke, mida võib võtta ka omaette novellidena, seob tegevuskoht ja tegelaskond, töötud, pensionärid, invaliidid, alkohoolikud, igat seltsi marginaalid, kes on samade sündmuste läbielajad ja tunnistajad. Tänu sellele, et lugejale näidatakse seda mikromaailma peatükist peatükki üha uute tegelaste vaatepunktist, võib tal teose tegelastega märkamatult sugeneda usalduslik vahekord ja ta võib neid vähehaaval mõistma hakata.
