Tutvustus
Jüri Parijõe klassikalise teose esimene (1931) ning teine (1932) trükk nägid ilmavalgust enam kui 70 aasta eest. Vaatamata möödunud ajale pole lugemik oma väärtust kaotanud. Parijõele omases meeldivas vestelises stiilis tutvustatakse Eesti ajaloo põnevamaid tahke alates aegade hämarusest kuni autori kaasajani ehk 20. sajandi alguseni. Eestimaa ajaloost on Jüri Parijõe käsitluses vormunud kaasakiskuvalt põnev juturaamat. Mõelduna eelkõige koolilastele, kes alles hakkavad ajalugu õppima, pole teos liigne ka veidi vanemale lugejale. Lugemik elavdab suurepäraselt Eesti ajaloo algkursust (V klass), tekitab huvi meie kodumaa mineviku vastu ning innustab ajalugu uurima. See sobib hästi ka kodusesse raamaturiiulisse pere noorematele lastele ettelugemiseks.
