Timothy T. Mar alustas näolugemise õppimist 1929. aastal Kesk-Hiina silmapaistva õpetlase ning füsiognoomiku meister Wang Fasheni käe all. Ta ol olnud diplomaat, ajalooprofessor, zen-budismi eluaegne harrastaja ja füsiognoomik.
Käesolev raamatuke on esimene katse paljastada Hiina näolugemiskunsti saladusi Lääne inimesele.
