Tutvustus
Tetraloogia viimases köites on sündmuste areng jõudnud Eesti Vabariigi alguse rahulikumaisse aastaisse. Seetõttu pühendab autor varasemast vähem tähelepanu ajaloolisele taustale. Peategelase Henn Ahase osalemine üliõpilasseltsi tegevuses, kaasalöömine kirjanduselus ei ole ka just kesksel kohal. Peatähelepanu koondub Hennu isiklikule elule, suhetele naistega. Lõpliku lahenduseni jõuavad suhted vanema venna Juhaniga. Kogu epopöa jõuab lõpule 1924. aasta 1. detsembri õhtul, kui mäss pealinnas on maha surutud ja ka Henn lõpuks oma tõelise armastuse leidnud.
