TUTVUSTUS

Leedu autori Skomantase jutustuste «Nõiutud aare» ja «Jumalate tahe» tegevus toimub 13. sajandi algupoolel peamiselt Lõuna-Läti aladel. Salk ristirüütleid röövib žemaitide vanema žybartase naise Medeina ja tütre Gaile ning viib nad Daugava põhjakaldal asuvasse Koknese ordulinnusesse. Nad nõuavad vabastamise eest lunaraha. Medeina poeg Uvis (eesti keelde tõlgitud (2001) «Teutoonide vangi» ja «Soohundi» peategelane) asub koos oma noorema venna ja sõbraga otsima lunamaksuks sobivat kuld- ja hõbeaaret, mille tema vanaisa oli ammusel sõijakäigul Igauniasse (Eestisse) ära oli peitnud.
Jumalate tahtes kirjeldatakse Uvise ja ta kaaslaste seiklusrikast teekonda aarde viimisel Koknese linnuse komtuurile.
