Andrei Anissimov sündis 1943. aastal Moskvas. 1980. aastal kolis Anissimov Eestisse ning perestroika ajal avas Tallinnas autokeraamika salongi. Samal perioodil avaldas ta esmakordselt oma proosateoseid venekeelsete kirjandusajakirjade Vikerkaar ja Tallinn väljaannetes.
Mõnda aega hiljem ilmus kirjastuses Aleksandra tema põnevusromaan „Nudistid golfi ei mängi“, mis Moskvas ilmus pealkirja all „Kaksikud“. Selle romaani järgi vändati ka samanimeline teleseriaal, mida näidati mitu korda nii Venemaal kui ka muudes riikides. Vaid Usbekistanis keelati film ideoloogilistel kaalutlustel ära.
