Raamatusse on valitud parimad jutud ja luuletused viielt omaloomingu konkursilt, mis korraldati Tallinna Keskraamatukogus aastatel 2003 kuni 2008. Juttude autoriteks on 8-14-aastased Tallinna koolide õpilased. Kõrvuti laste töödega on samadel teemadel kirjutanud oma lood ka tuntud lastekirjanikud.
