Selles raamatus jõuab poole sajandi tagant taas lugeja kätte Tootsi-lugude tsükli lõpetav "Sügis", mille esimene osa nägi trükivalgust 1938.a., teine osa aga ilmub raamatuna üldse esmakordselt, aluseks kirjanikust maha jäänud käsikiri.
