«Andekas mr Ripley» pälvis Ameerika põnevuskirjanduse Edgar Allan Poe auhinna ning selle järgi on vändatud kaks filmi. Esmalt televariandis «Plein Soleil», mille peaosa mängis Alain Delon, ning filmilinal 1999. aastal originaalpealkirja all ning Matt Damoni ja Jude Law'ga peaosades.
