«Ühel päeval otsustasin -- kõik, enam panka ei lähe. Hakkan ise pangaks. Teen nii, et inimesed ise tulevad oma rahaga minu juurde,» rääkis Safrani laenukontori omanik Sergei Belokon. Ja inimesed tulidki. Safranisse tõi raha ligi 400 inimest, kokku 24 miljonit krooni. Safrani kuritahtlik pankrot võttis neilt võimaluse seda raha eales enam näha.
See on üks lugu raamatust «Rahakratid», mis kirjeldab Eesti krooni kümneaastase ajaloo jooksul toimunud finantsafääre. Kaksteist peatükki on järjestatud ajaliselt. Esimene peatükk räägib 1990ndate alguses asutatud Tartu Kommertspangast. Viimane peatükk käsitleb 2002. aasta kevadel ilmsiks tulnud Hansapanga juhi Indrek Neivelti aktsiatehingut.
