Austrias 1903. aastal asutati Viini lähedal Purkersdorfist lõuna pool asuvas Saksa metsas Austria esimene eraldusaiade koloonia "Heimgarten (Koduaed)". Hiljem 1907 asutati Grazis aiapidajate ühing "Heimgarten" ja ehitati esimene jaotusaed... Ja peale I. MS 1919. aastal asutati Austria väikeaiapidajate ja asunike keskliit ja ilmus oma ajakiri.
