Ruudi elab Saaremaal kahekesi oma ema, konstaabel Karmeniga. Isa pole nende majas kunagi olnud. Ruudi suur kirg on viikingid, ja tema rõõmuks korraldatakse Kuressaare laadal lõbusõit päris tõelise viikingilaevaga. Paraku selgub, et temavanused poisid ilma isata lõbusõidule ei pääse. Nii ei jää Ruudil hädaga muud üle kui asuda sõbratar Vika abiga endale isa otsima.
