Püsik. Kasvukõrgus 30-40cm, laius kuni 50cm. Õitseb kevadel aprill-mai.
Lehed hallikas-hõbedased, väikesed helesinised õied. Eelistab poolvarjulist või varjulist kasvukohta ning viljakat parasniisket mulda.
Ei talu otsest päikest, kuid piisavalt niiske kasvutingimuse korral saab hakkama ka täispäikese käes.
Peale õitsemist tuleb õievarred eemaldada, et taim hakkaks kiiremini suuri lehti kasvatama.
