1960. aastatel hakkas Tallinnale kujunema oma imago ja sellest sai Nõukogude turisminduses populaarne sihtkoht. Võimalust "vanade tornide ja kohvikute linnas" toonase turisti pilguga ringi vaadata pakub Vassili Aksjonovi "Tähepilet". Romaan võimaldab pilguheitu 1960. aastatel vene kirjanduses toimunud murrangusse, mis eemaldus ametlikult soositud poolsotsrealismist. Nii pole sugugi juhuslik, et mitmed toonased noorautorid pidid hiljem läände emigreeruma, nende seast on tuntuim kindlasti Jossif Brodski. Uues põlvkonnas, mille hulka kuulusid Jevgeni Jevtušenko, Bella Ahmadulina, Andrei Voznessenski jt, oli üks säravamaid autoreid Vassili Aksjonov.
