1973. aastal ilmunud „Tekstimõnu” on maineka Prantsuse semiootiku ja kirjandusteoreetiku Roland Barthes’i (1915–1980) hilisloomingu kuulsamaid teoseid. Hüljates teda varem huvitanud süstemaatilised tekstiuuringud, huvitub Barthes „Tekstimõnus” tähendusloome protsessidest, nendest mehhanismidest, mis tekstis tähendusi sünnitavad. Tema põhitähelepanu on pööratud tekstile kui “mõnuallikale”, lugeja füüsilisele ja vahetule suhtele kirjandusteosesse. Oma poeetiliselt kirjutatud tekstis toob Barthes muuhulgas käibele kuulsa eristuse sidusa ja lihtsalt loetava “mõnuteksti” ning pidetu ja keerulise “naudinguteksti” vahel.
