Taim puhkab talvel. Kastmine tuleb lõpetada umbes septembris või, kui hakkab kuivama. Närtsib täielikult ära. Talvel hoida potti pimedas ja jahedas. Uuesti kastma hakata veebruari lõpus, märtsis. Siis taim ka välja tõsta. Läheb umbes paar kuud, kui taim välja tuleb. Igal aastal kasvab suuremaks. Kui saata postiga, siis võib juhtuda, et lill ei toibu kuna oli mullast väljas. Kevadel jälle lill olemas.
