TUTVUSTUS
Rromaani aines on ammutatud inglise modernismi klassiku Virginia Woolfi 1925.a. ilmunud romaanist «Proua Dalloway». Autor heidab pilgu kirjanduse sünni, vastuvõtu ja mõju käiku kolme eraldiseisva, kuid peenelt põimitud loo kaudu, mille ajaliseks raamiks on üks päev kolme naise elus: «Proua Woolf» (1920.aastate Richmond), «Proua Brown» (1950.aastate Los Angeles) ja «Proua Dalloway» (1990. aastate New York).
Romaani ainetel valminud film tunnistati 2003.a. Kuldgloobuse vääriliseks. Sama auhinna sai Virginia Woolfi kehastanud Nicole Kidman. Osatäitmine tõi näitlejannale ka parima naisnäitleja Oscari.
