Hella Wuolijoe mälestuste teine köide “Ülikooliaastad Helsingis 1904-1908” algab tema Soome jõudmisega 1904. a. septembris. Helsingi ülikooli rahvaluulet õppima asunud hakkaja tütarlaps kohaneb kiiresti, keeletunde andes teenib ta endale ülalpidamist. Oskar Kallas ja Jaan Tõnisson aitavad teda kokku viia soome teaduse ja kultuuri nimekate esindajatega, nagu Aino Kallase vend prof. Kaarle Krohn, ülikooli lektor Antti Almberg-Jalava, teatritegelane Kaarlo Bergbom jt. Ta kirjutas rahvaluule-uurimuse “Vaenelaps ema haual”, omandades magistrikraadi; osales ka Soome poliitilises elus, tutvus oma tulevase mehega ja abiellus.
