Nimekas lääne-saksa lastekirjanik Otfried Preussler on sündinud 1923.a. Palju aastaid on ta töötanud koolijuhatajana.
O. Preussleri lasteraamatud «Väike nõid», «Röövel Hotzenplotz», «Väike tont», «Krabat» ja mitmed teised on saksa laste hulgas väga populaarsed. Alates 1957.a. on kirjanikule nende eest määratud mitmeid auhindu.
